Buttercup Cottage is a quiet, romantic retreat for two, only a 15-minute walk from the centre of Rye, East Sussex

Under new ownership and completely renovated throughout

Formerly an 1800’s dairy building, converted into a studio apartment giving it a French farmhouse contemporary feel yet remaining sympathetic to its heritage.

Buttercup Cottage is one of two holiday apartment’s, each with its own entrance off the hallway, if you wish to book both, talk to us about a 10% discount.

The apartment has a bright, airy, open plan living area all on one level, with a high vaulted ceiling, exposed timbers and a stall divider from the milking parlour days to separate the sleeping area, making the apartment fairly unique.

The kitchen space has a 4 ring hob and electric oven, an under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, toaster and kettle.

A dining table overlooking the courtyard garden, the perfect spot for your morning coffee or an evening meal. The lounge area has a comfy sofa, with scatter cushions and a cosy throw, a large Freeview TV, DVD player if required and a selection of books to browse.

The bedroom area has a king-size bed, with quality linen, throw and cushions and another TV, in case you fancy a lazy morning. There is a dressing table that is suitable for use as a desk if you should need to bring work away with you and a digital radio with bluetooth capabilities, should you wish to listen to your own music. A large built-in wardrobe for all your holiday clothes.

The large ensuite bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, WC, hand basin, shaver point and heated towel rail, the perfect pampering suite whilst on holiday.

We allow one small well behaved dog but rules apply.

There is a pea shingle courtyard garden, with table and seating and established shrubs, a tranquil retreat after a day exploring 1066 country and a pleasant spot for an evening tipple.

There is parking for one vehicle in front of the cottage in the garden if you come by car.

The railway station is in the town centre and less than 1 mile from the apartment.

Buttercup Cottage benefits from private access onto the 1066 trail for walkers and is a pleasant way to walk into Rye if you fancy it.

Really nice place that was a good size for two people. Great location that wasn't too far from the town centre. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

Owners left a generous welcome pack of goodies. The property was lovely and clean and cosy, despite visiting in the middle of December. Kitchen well equipped and plenty of space for hanging clothes. Lovely quiet location but close enough to Rye to walk in or 5 minutes in the car.

Perfect place to stay. Small yet felt spacious. Had a nice feel about the place. Comfortable and clean. A garden too is a bonus. Would definitely return. An interesting town and area to explore.
