Applecote is a cosy studio apartment for two on the outskirts of Rye within walking distance of the town centre.
You arrive at Applecote along a winding country lane just 10 minutes walk from Rye town centre. It is a pretty, weatherboarded small barn conversion studio apartment, with exposed beams and a wood burner.
You enter the property through the perfectly formed handcrafted kitchen, with a dining table and seating for two. The splash of green adds a touch of colour with the mix of natural materials. You have an oven, hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, DAB radio, kettle, toaster and butlers sink, everything you could need for self-catering.
Stairs lead up to the open plan bedroom, with exposed beams, large picture window and french doors opening out onto the decked terrace and garden. This space doubles up as your lounge and bedroom with a double bed and arm-chair, wood burner and Smart TV, a great place to sit back and relax and enjoy the quiet. Off of the living area is a modern wet room, with a shower, hand basin, shaver point and WC.
The decked terrace is a lovely spot to sit with your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening and enjoy the natural garden, which is fenced, making it a safe space for your 4 legged friend.
Please note, the apartment is heated with an electric wall radiator, an electrically heated towel rail in the wet room and the wood burner, which once lit heats the whole apartment. You are provided with a welcome basket of logs and kindling but you will need to purchase more if you wish to light the burner every evening. You can purchase an additional bag at the cottage for £7, please leave payment when checking out or knock at the cottage next door to pay.
We are happy for an infant under the age of two to stay but you will need to bring your own travel cot and take care with the few steps down to the kitchen.
The property accepts one small/medium well behaved dog and the garden is fenced and secure .
Parking for one car is provided to the side of the cottage.
The apartment is a lovely romantic retreat and a great base for exploring the pretty historic town of Rye for a weekend away or longer.

Thank you for the most amazing stay at Applecote. Perfect distance from Rye, with beautiful country walks on the door step and a gorgeous wood burner to snuggle down next to in the evenings. After a year of being locked down in London this was the perfect escape and we couldn't have asked for more from the comfy sofa bed and copious cushions to the thoughtful touches they left for us in the kitchen. We will be back xxx

We really enjoyed our stay at Applecote. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking to escape to the country for a short respite from city life. The hosts were great and really responsive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again. The cottage was really cozy with a wood burner and a comfy bed. It has everything you need and a lovely garden too. The location is great for visiting Rye and other nearby towns. The hosts were really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

“Loved staying at this cute little cottage. With a beautiful little garden to lounge in when the sun is shining it was perfect for what we wanted. It's a little walk from Rye centre if travelling by foot, but it's a nice walk and would recommend being in the tranquility of the birds and beautiful gardens anyway. Great communication and very helpful throughout.”

A quiet, cosy and quirky property, just what we were looking for.

The place was lovely. Small but perfectly formed, it had everything you could need for the week. It was in walking distance to the town and the station which was great and even on the rainy days I was happy to spend the day there with a good book and the fire burning. The little garden space was also great.

This is a wonderful cottage, cozy, well insulated, and in a great location. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. There was coffee, flowers, and plenty of wood to use in the woodburner - we could have not wished for a nicer holiday! I also appreciated that the kitchen, albeit small, is well equipped, so we could easily cook.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, it is tiny but perfect for a couple. It has everything you need, an extremely comfortable bed and located in a peaceful lane, so a great place to relax.
