Big Sky is a contemporary holiday cottage sleeping 6 adults in the village of Camber, East Sussex, only 3 miles from Rye

Big Sky is a seaside chic hidden gem only 5 minutes walk from the beach, nestled along a private track with a gated driveway and parking for 3 cars.

Finished to a very high standard, with a contemporary feel, this three bedroom, 2 bathrooms, the open-plan holiday cottage is a secret we are happy to share.

You enter the property into an open plan lounge, diner and kitchen, perfect for holiday cooking and entertaining. Bold interior colours, quirky treasures add character to the space and the focal point, the woodburner, is an added welcome for those cool Autumn evenings and lazy Sundays after a bracing winter walk on the beach. Fully equipped kitchen and separate utility area, making holiday catering a breeze.

There are three bedrooms, two king size beds one with a ensuite shower room and one double bedroom opposite the family bathroom. All finished to a very high standard with quality bed linen and soft fluffy towels.

The enclosed garden is a beautiful surprise, landscaped with natural planting, shingle and decking and a fenced pond, a welcome retreat after a long day exploring the 1066 area. There are two decked areas, one for alfresco dining and the other overlooking the stream that runs behind the property. There is a fire pit on the shingle garden for melting those marshmallows while sipping a cool drink and star gazing on a balmy evening.

Big Sky is a dog friendly and children friendly holiday cottage but guests must be aware of the pond and the stream behind, so never leave children unattended in the garden.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday retreat set over one level, easy access to the beach and pretty marsh town, look no further than Big Sky, its certainly somewhere we think you will be happy whatever the season.

What a lovely space. Really well decorated and everything just works. IF I had to criticise (and this is hard!)....there was no cooking oil? The bottle of fizz made up for it though! Very comfortable, loved the fire, hot and powerful showers, comfy beds.

Amazing stay at the Big Sky. Exactly what was needed to break the lockdown blues. Great place to relax, the kids absolutely loved the styling of it, and the wood burner was a big hit. Beds were comfy, water was hot, neighbours were quiet...what more do you need 😊

“Big Sky - wow! The photos do not do this place justice. I and my family had a wonderful holiday in this beautifully designed property. Spacious, clean, well laid out with fab eclectic design-led decor and a huge garden. A great location to explore the nature reserve, wonderful beaches, Rye and Dungeness. We had stormy weather unfortunately for half the trip but Big Sky was the perfect place to cosy up with a book and stay dry and when the sun shone, to sit out with a cocktail in a deck chair. Highly recommend!”

We had a lovely stay in Camber. the Apartment is lovely and located close to the beach. Parking was great, just outside the apartment. The rooms are decent sized (we were a group of 4 so it worked well) and the garden is spacious, though you do have to keep an eye out for kids and dogs as it is not fenced and there is a pond. We gave it an overall 4 rating as there were a few quirks (front door lock was tricky; not as clean as we hoped; general amenities such as salt, pepper, oil etc. were not included) but overall we had a really great time.

Great property, nicely decorated, lovely wood burner and nice open plan. Luxury feel & parking onsite. Lovely beach across the road, just a short walk

This was the perfect venue for six of us and two dogs to spend our New Year. It’s a 3-minute walk to the beach, which the dogs loved, with its seemingly endless walks. We ate out twice, at The Owl - a 15-minute walk, great food and great beer - and at The Woolpack Inn, which is a 15-minute drive and also had great food and beer! The house itself is a perfect communal space, packed with books, games and Netflix. It’s well-equipped with everything we needed, including milk and bottle of bubbly. We loved its quirky decor and it’s got a great outside space, too. Having read previous reviews, I was a bit concerned about the pond and stream for our dogs but they don’t like to get wet so it wasn’t an issue for us. Great communication with the host, too, which was appreciated.

Big Sky is a lovely well thought out property, with everything that we needed. There was a varied selection of books which was great particularly for me as I love a good read. The location near the beach meant that we could have many walks on the stunning sandy beach, and in the afternoon we would pop into one of the Owl Pub on the way back for a quick drink in front of the log fire before dinner. We went in February which meant that the beach was deserted which was amazing.

Second time staying at one of Jacqui’s properties and we were not disappointed. Great property less than 5min walk from the beach. Great kitchen/living space with a lovely garden. Wood burner was also a lovely feature. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely great property. Loved the open plan of the kitchen, living room and dining room. Outside space was spectacular.

The house is in a great location, close to the beach. There is noise of children playing due to the proximity of the caravan park but it was not intrusive. The beach at Camber is beautiful and dog friendly between Oct and April. There surrounding areas are great, Rye and Old Hastings were very charming, the Hythe to Dungeness Railway is a must. The beds were comfortable and we purchased logs for the log burner which were welcome on the cold spring nights.
