The good news is, it’s nearly over and time to look ahead to Spring, as we say goodbye to Winter.
In our little pocket of Sussex, we have a wide and varied calendar of events to look forward to and something for everyone.
Looking to book that special someone a surprise Valentines weekend away, we have many holiday properties for couples only. A well-established event on the 1066 Country calendar is Rye’s ‘Scallop Festival’, happening this year from the 22nd February to the 1st March 2020. Many restaurants will be showcasing a huge variety of scallop dishes and there will be cooking workshops, tasting sessions and demos taking place. It’s a great chance to indulge in this very tasty mollusc and enjoy the fresh catch from the waters just two miles out from Rye bay. Looking for a party vibe, then look no further than Hastings Fat Tuesday Music Festival taking place from the 21st - 25th February 2020. Five days of music and Mardi Gras on the South Coast. Hastings has a thriving music scene and bags of character to boot, showcasing a wealth of musical talent. Hastings Fat Tuesday is the Uk’s largest Mardi Gras celebration, located in the seaside town of Hastings, only 1.5 hours from London by train or an hours drive from Dover ferry ports or Folkestone’s Euro tunnel; making it the perfect weekend getaway destination, wherever you are travelling from.
