Grey Owl Cabin is a family-friendly holiday cabin in a woodland glade, in the village of Three Oaks, close to Hastings and Rye, East Sussex, England, UK

Grey Owl Cabin is named after Archibald Stansfeld Belaney a man ahead of his time and a conservationist who the town of Hastings remembers with a plaque at the entrance to Hastings Country Park, at Fairlight.

Grey Owl Cabin is situated in its own woodland glade, with snowdrops, bluebells and other natural plants, carpeting the grounds in Spring and Summer. Sit on the verandah and listen to the bird song or wave to the friendly cows grazing in the neighbouring field and breathe in the tranquillity and at nightspot the stars between the trees as no light pollution here.

There is parking for several cars through the gate and then follow the winding path to the front door.

Enter the cabin into the open plan living space, with a dining area, lounge seating and fully equipped kitchen.

There are two double bedrooms and a modern shower room. A travel cot and high chair can be provided on request but please provide your own bedding for the travel cot.

A DVD library is provided for those cosy evenings in, Wifi to plan your holiday itinerary and many other home comforts to make this a home from home.

Outstanding stay at the Grey Owl cabin. Tranquil quiet gem of a eco friendly cabin in beautiful surroundings and private entry and lock box arrangements for check in and check out ensure complete privacy. Mik and Di are wonderful hosts and their thoughtful touches will make you right at home. Will definitely come back!

A wonderful stay with everything we needed. Can’t wait to come back!

“An outstanding place which was faultless in every aspect. My family and I had a relaxed and peaceful few days at Grey Owl Cabin. The only complaint we had was not booking more time there. I’m already thinking of my next trip to Grey Owl. It’s the perfect antidote to City life. Beautifully clean and nestled in its own grounds with plenty of bird life to enjoy. It was also step free and friendly for older visitors and just a 30 second walk from the off road parking to the front door. Excellent food and local beers to be had at the 3 Oaks pub just a few minutes walk away. Don’t miss it !”

“Grey Owl cottage is a great hidden gem, which feels like the middle of nowhere but is actually very conveniently located to explore the local area! Checkin and comms very easy and the host provided some essentials (milk, coffee, bread etc) to get us started which was a nice touch. Cottage itself has everything you would need for a short stay away. Very short walk to a nice English pub that does good pub grub and very welcoming. Not a bad word to say about it, would definitely return!”

Brilliant place for peace and quiet and nature but close enough to amenities. The whole place had a lovely feel. Warm and comfortable, good layout of open plan living area, ample kitchen equipment. Thoughtful and generous welcome pack, helpful but unobtrusive owners. Clear and tidy information about the area and **excellent internet**. Only negative: It would be useful to have more lighting over the sink/kitchen prep area. The shower was excellent but we struggled to understand the controls (we got it in the end!). Maybe a note in the information book for people like us with aging eyesight that didn't pick up the motifs on the dials?

Grey Owl cabin is a beautiful and wonderfully welcoming place. There were some lovely touches - flowers and chocolates on arrival and everything I needed was there. The local pub was very friendly and there are gorgeous walks on the doorstep. I would definitely stay again.
